Terms of use.

NetHourly is a free educational calculator. By using it, you agree to these terms. The numbers are estimates, not a paycheck, a legal opinion, or tax advice.

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

These terms apply to NetHourly.com and its calculators, guides, and pages. By using the site, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Educational use only

NetHourly provides general educational tools for understanding US pay periods, overtime, 24-hour shift pay, and hourly wages. The site is not a payroll service, employer, staffing agency, law firm, accounting firm, tax preparer, or financial adviser. It is not affiliated with the US Department of Labor, any state labor agency, or any employer.

You are responsible for checking your own pay stub, employment agreement, union contract, and applicable law. A calculator result is a starting point for a conversation, not a final determination of what you are owed.

No payroll, legal, tax, or financial advice

Nothing on NetHourly is payroll, legal, tax, investment, or financial advice. The site does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, or fiduciary relationship. Wage and hour law is fact-specific and changes over time. Overtime eligibility, sleep and meal exclusions, daily overtime, and tax withholding depend on your duties, location, employment agreement, and other facts.

For a real dispute, get real help. Confirm current rules with the US Department of Labor, your state labor office, a union representative, or a qualified payroll, tax, or legal professional. Do not rely on this site to decide whether to file a claim, sign a contract, or accept a settlement.

Estimates and accuracy

The calculators use simplified assumptions: a 40-hour week, 52 weeks a year, 26 bi-weekly pay periods, FLSA overtime after 40 hours, and flat-rate tax estimates. Real payroll may differ because of state and local taxes, pre-tax deductions, garnishments, credits, filing status, overtime rules, holiday pay, bonuses, shift differentials, or unpaid time off.

We aim to keep formulas and reference data accurate, but we do not guarantee that every figure is current, complete, or error-free. Minimum wages, tax rates, and overtime rules change. If you spot an error, contact us with the page and the number in question.

Your responsibilities

When using NetHourly, you agree not to:

  • Use the site for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of the site without permission.
  • Misrepresent calculator results as official payroll, legal, or tax determinations.
  • Submit sensitive personal information such as Social Security or bank account numbers.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the numbers you enter and for how you use the results. The calculators do not verify your hours, rate, classification, or eligibility.

Intellectual property

The site's text, design, layout, calculators, and original graphics are owned by NetHourly or used with permission. You may view the site and print a page for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the site's content without written permission, except for brief quotations with attribution.

Third-party names, logos, and trademarks belong to their owners. References to laws, agencies, or companies are for identification and do not imply endorsement.

Third-party links and advertising

The site may link to third-party websites and may display advertising. We do not control those sites or ads and are not responsible for their content, products, privacy practices, or accuracy. A link or ad does not mean we endorse the third party. Review the third party's terms and privacy policy before using it.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, NetHourly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NetHourly and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost wages, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the site. This includes decisions made in reliance on a calculator result.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim related to the site will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to use the site or $100. The site is free, so this limit is intended to be modest.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NetHourly and its operators from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the site, or your violation of another person's rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which NetHourly is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Nothing in these terms limits a right that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the site or applicable rules change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
